Child Protection Policy
Last updated: 15 October 2026
Nobin Foundation exists to give orphaned and street children a safe home and a future. Nothing matters more to us than the safety and dignity of the children in our care.
This policy explains the standard of behaviour we expect from everyone who works with us, and what you should do if you are worried about a child.
Our commitment
- We treat every child with respect, and without discrimination of any kind.
- We do not tolerate any form of abuse or exploitation, whether physical, emotional, sexual or through neglect.
- We act in the best interests of the child in the decisions we make.
- We listen to children, and we take seriously what they tell us.
Who this policy applies to
This policy applies to everyone who works for or with the foundation, including our staff, teachers and carers, volunteers, partner organisations, contractors, and anyone who visits our premises or our activities.
How we work with children
- We check the background of the people who work with children before they start, and we ask for references.
- We set out a clear code of conduct. Adults must not be alone with a child in a closed or private setting, and any physical contact must be appropriate, open and for the child's care only.
- We train the people who work with children to recognise the signs of harm and to report them.
- We keep an internal written record of every concern raised and how it was handled.
Photographs and privacy
We use images of children only to describe our work, never in a way that could identify, shame or endanger a child. We do not publish a child's full name, school, address or contact details. If you are a guardian, or the person in the photograph, and you ask us to remove an image, we will do so.
How to report a concern
If you are worried that a child is at risk, or you have seen something in our work or on this website that concerns you, please tell us.
- Email us at [email protected] with the word "Safeguarding" in the subject line.
- Please include what you saw or heard, and when it happened.
- You may report a concern without giving your name.
If a child is in immediate danger, please contact the local authorities or emergency services in your area first.
What happens next
We take every report seriously. A senior member of the foundation reviews it promptly and keeps the information confidential to the extent the law allows. Where the law requires it, we involve the authorities. We do not ask the person who raises a concern to investigate it themselves, and we do not act against anyone who reports a concern in good faith.
Review
We review this policy at least once a year, and whenever our work changes. The date at the top of this page shows when it was last updated.
